Lucas ( Bad Boys of Dry River, Wyoming Book 1 ) by Susan Fisher-Davis with Review by Lonnie

Emily Walters needs help fast. Her ex-husband is being released from prison and Adam swore he’d never let her go. She knows he’ll come for her. Her only choice is one of the bad boys of Dry River, Lucas Taggart. Lucas raised a lot of hell when he was younger and never backed down from anyone. It's what Emily needs in a protector and a husband. She offers him half of her ranch in exchange for protection and marriage. Whispering Pines is one of the largest horse ranches in the States. Would it be enough to entice the brooding man?

Lucas Taggart isn't interested in marriage but he is interested in Whispering Pines and when he looks into Emily’s eyes, he knows it wouldn't be a hardship being married to her, as long as it's a real marriage.

When Adam shows up to claim the woman he still thinks of as his wife, will Lucas have to do the unthinkable to protect the woman he's come to love with all his heart? What happens if or when Adam is finally out of the picture? Will Emily still want Lucas around and will she ever return his love?

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review. I loved this book! This author brought these characters to life in this story! A hard-headed cowboy and a stubborn cowgirl with communication issues. Who can't relate to this? Amazing story!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review. I loved this book! How far would you go to be with your mate? Having not read the other books in the series, I was easily introduced and acclimated into this story. There was enough intrigue and mystery to keep me engaged throughout the story. I am going back and get the other books now!!

Sealed in Blood by Jenna Fox with Review by Lonnie

**Contains a possessive alpha male, sexually graphic descriptions and is intended for readers aged 18 and up**

Determined to forget her ex-fiancé, and gather the remains of her betrayed heart, Charisma Claiborne scrapes together her hard earned pennies for a dream trip to Las Vegas. On her first day in town, she has an accident with an eccentric casino owner. Enthralled by his good looks, she falls into his bed for a steamy one night stand.

But Hunt Blackwater is more than a mysterious, gorgeous casino owner. Rumors of a Native American curse and a string of inexplicable deaths follow in his wake. But the most terrifying is his ability to reach right into Charisma's soul and make her want the things she's convinced herself she can do without.

Determined not to get in over her head, Charisma cuts her trip short and returns home, but trouble seems to follow her. With remembered whispers of curses in her ears, and the lingering smell of death in her nose, she wonders if she is his next victim. Things go from puzzling to harrowing as Charisma comes face to face with the greatest betrayal she could ever imagine.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review and I have to say this book kept me on the edge of my seat! I was completely engaged with the story from start to end!! How could you not fall for a man named Hunt? And this ending was not what I was expecting!

Jenna Fox is a civilized hillbilly, mother, author and wife residing in Eastern Tennessee. Besides juggling a busy family life, Fox reviews and critiques for other authors and crafts her own dark erotic tales. Stories always feature a mysterious alpha male with unexpected twists to shock the reader. She believes in HFN and HEA endings, although not always in a romantic or conventional way.

Her work is born from real life experiences, an overactive imagination and a consuming caffeine addiction. Sometimes she finds herself writing sex scenes on fast food napkins and store receipts while waiting in traffic. Fox is a listener of bad-ass music and a watcher of classic slasher films. In short, she's a multi-tasker - a writer, a storyteller, able to make a boo-boo all better with just one kiss and a proud, world class expert at screwing up recipes and scaring away closet monsters. She believes in ghosts and God and is absolutely convinced chocolate soothes the savage beast.

Her Unexpected Hero (Unexpected Heroes series Book 1)

by Melody Anne
Genre: Erotic Romance

Would you recognize true love if it sat down next to you? In this unforgettable new spinoff of the Billionaire books from New York Times bestselling indie author Melody Anne, two strangers must look past their painful memories to make way for everlasting love.

Alyssa’s modeling career came to an abrupt end when her manager boyfriend emptied her bank account and ruined her professional reputation. Now she’s heading to a new town in Montana to rebuild her life—if she can even get there (stupid delayed planes!). But things are looking up when she's upgraded to first class and a mysterious stranger sits down next to her…

Jackson Whitman doesn’t believe in love, or commitment, or forever—not since he lost his wife and daughter. But the beautiful woman sitting next to him at the gate has him rethinking that position. Can he convince her to be his for the night? Or will she convince him to be hers for a lifetime?

'I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review'

Jackson and his brothers were adopted by Martin when they were younger. They had a rough time of it before that. Jackson has still had a rough time of it after. He has vowed to never fall in love again. He didn't expect to meet Alyssa. She has baffled him. After their first meeting he can't get her out of his head. When he runs into her again. He is bound and determined not to let her get away. But he's not even sure how long he wants her in his life.

Alyssa's modeling career went up in flames fast thanks to her manager. So she goes home to live with her parents again. Only home is no longer in Texas. Her parents moved to Montana. On her way home from Paris she meets Jackson. They have one night together. One night that she will remember forever but she never expects to see him again. When she does she knows she has to tell him her secret but finds that it is not an easy thing to do.

This is the type of book that I love to read from this author! I absolutely loved it. I enjoyed the fact that one of my favorite fictional characters was in this book also. Joseph Anderson is his scheming self matchmaking self along with a whole slew of friends up to the same thing. This was a great first book in a new series with pop ins from our favorite Andersons. I love Jackson's character. I liked Alyssa's character also but to be honest there were just a few things that annoyed me about her. That is strictly a personal character opinion. I am excited to read the next book in this series. I can already tell just from the first book that this is going to be one of my top favorite series! I highly recommend reading!

Once Upon A Wedding 4 book Series by Kelly Rae with Reviews by Samantha

One Day at a Wedding Series           Contemporary Romance

Synopsis:
Once Upon a Wedding Story Synopsis

Cassie Anderson, bridesmaid extraordinaire, is tired of attending her friend’s weddings
either solo, or with her best friend, Thad. Finding a real date is simply too much work.
Especially when she sees an old acquaintance from high school, Dan, at her friend Shelley’s
wedding. After the spark shared between them, Dan has become the object of her affection.
Too bad he has a nasty habit of having a date on his arm at every turn. Stealing another
woman's date is against the rules, but if she could just catch him alone…well, that would be fair game! Unfortunately, timing is everything, and she and Dan seem
to have the worst. Always the bridesmaid, walking away with nothing more than a dreadful dress,

Cassie is committed to changing her luck and getting her man.

Every Other Wedding Synopsis

Cassie Anderson has been the girl of Dan’s dreams since high school. Unfortunately, her
return to his life comes at the worst time possible. As he tries to put his life back together,
he keeps an eye on her, hoping to find her single at the right time. A time when it all hurts a
bit less. A time when he can offer her all of the love she deserves. After three weddings of
happenstance meetings, Dan finds himself to be a little more ready for everything that is
Cassie. Putting himself out there, he can only hope she is everything he thinks she might
 be — his forever girl.

Anything but a Wedding

Thad never expected to find anyone who meant more to him than his best friend, Cassie.
She was the one woman he loved enough not to sleep with. He was a player, but an honest
one. Unfortunately, not everyone felt that balanced out his love 'em and leave 'em ways.
He just didn't see a need to settle down — yet. Then, he met Brianna, who made him think
about the future — a future with her — which was a new experience for Thad. Brianna is
also a new kind of woman and convincing her that they have a future might just be the
challenge of his life.

Not One More Wedding

Brianna works through men like she works through her closet — seasonally. Any other way
has always been trouble. When she meets Thad, she is thrilled. Not only does he intrigue and
excite her, but he is just like her — noncommittal. He sets her on fire with his smooth talk and
honest approach to dating. Even without being physical beyond a kiss, the thought of him
makes her entire body hum. Except, Thad has gone and gotten attached to her in a way neither
of them expected; attached in a way she simply cannot allow. Unfortunately, he won't allow
their relationship to become physical until she surrenders her heart to him, which is a battle
she isn’t sure she can win. The longer it lasts, the less sure she becomes of wanting it to.

Bonus Story! When Cassie Met Thad

Were you curious about how Cassie and Thad met? Read all about their story in this
bonus story exclusive to this version.

All of the books were good. I enjoyed them.  My biggest issue with them is that they are very repetitive. The first two books are not as bad. You get some of the same story from book 1 but you get a more in depth look into Dan's life. Book 4 however to me seems to be the exact same story as book 3 with a few extra scenes. I think Thad and Bri's story would have been better if it had been one book with both points of view. With all of that said I do recommend  reading!

Excerpt from Once Upon a Wedding Book One:
“Cassie. Cassie, did you see who’s here?” Shelley tugged at her skirt, trying to get her
attention directed toward the back of the church.
“What’s the matter with you?” she asked Shelley and then turned to face the back of the
church. “Ohh, now I see what you mean.”
“And yet, you ignored me,” Thad said from the other side.
She just blew him off with a wave. He would get over it in two seconds or less anyway.
There he stood, looking as dapper as a GQ cover. His suit was a very nice shade of blue,
with a white shirt and what appeared to be a pinstripe tie. By the time Shelley had gotten
her attention, he had already selected a pew and scooted by people for a seat. The most
important thing Cassie noticed was his lack of a date.
Who doesn’t take their fiancĂ©e to a wedding?
This could be a good sign. Of course, she would have to do some more investigating before
she determined whether he had a single status at this point, or remained affianced. It then
dawned on her that she, herself, had brought a date to the wedding. She took her eyes off
Dan long enough to glance over at Thad, currently very busy staring at the legs of the
 woman next to him.
Boy, can I pick ‘em. Even my pretend boyfriends are losers.
“Thad, do you think you could be a little more discrete about your appreciation for our
neighbor there?” she asked through gritted teeth, trying to keep her disdain to a low roar.
“Oh, shit, I’m sorry Cassie. But did you see her calves? I swear, it’s just a professional
thing,” he said this with the gigolo grin, his specialty, one that hardly ever worked on Cassie.
 Hardly ever.
“If this is where you tell me how you’re a critic and you were just admiring her legs in a
professional manner, don’t bother,” Cassie uttered in her most stern, yet quiet, voice. “You
\critique the arts, Thad, her legs are not performing.”
“I could argue that point, but seeing how your face is scrunching up at me, I won’t. You’re
right, I’m sorry. It won’t happen again.”
Thad did his best to appear remorseful and even went so far as to kiss her forehead and
squeeze her hand. She did not squeeze back.
To Cassie’s way of thinking, the fact that he had been holding her hand the whole time,
including while checking out the lady’s legs next to them, made it a little worse. What
could she say, though, considering she had been waiting and hoping for the appearance
of another man?
She turned her head and caught Dan glancing in her direction. His mouth immediately
curved up into a smile and he waved in Cassie’s direction. Cassie returned the smile and
raised her left hand to reciprocate the wave, realizing she’d brought Thad’s hand along
with her. Making it obvious that she had brought a date to the wedding, she immediately
dropped Thad’s hand. Too late. She knew Dan had seen already.
Damn it!

Her plans are changed when she meets an agent from Lovely and Kind Brides. The mysterious woman tells Erin she has the PERFECT match for her. Curious, Erin decides to give love one last try and join the mail-order bride agency.

A shifter isn’t complete until they find their mate and Owen’s had no luck in that department. After months of no matches, an LK Brides agent emails to let him know she has found his mate. The agent’s optimism is enough to give Owen hope that maybe his long search is over.

'I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review'

Erin is over dating. She has had so many bad dates that she doesn't see the point in trying anymore. When someone from Lovely and Kind Brides approaches her and says she will be the perfect bride for someone in their system. She is intrigued as she knows that LK Brides caters to shifters. She agrees to meet with the woman and starts to get in contact with Owen.

Owen has had his profile in with LK Brides for a while. He was starting to think that they weren't going to find anyone for him. He lives in a town that mostly has shifters. All of the businesses are shifter owned. But the town is going down hill. They need to do something to bring life back to it. One way to do that is to get some women in the town. The men need to start finding wives. He can't believe his luck when he and Erin start emailing and hit it off so well.

I enjoyed the book. I thought that it was interesting. It wasn't a really spicy read. I like the mainly shifter town idea and that shifters are out in the open. It is a quick, enjoyable read and I definitely recommend reading. I am definitely interested in reading more from this author and in continuing reading this series.

While I LOVE books, it was actually a movie that started me on my romance obsession. My very first favorite movie was Disney's Cinderella. I was hooked from the opening note of "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" all the way until the "happily ever after" at the end. Now, I write my own "happily ever after" stories. Only mine feature more of a paranormal element and are a lot steamier than my old favorites.
